2008 Culinary Application and Information
The Georgetown’s Art In The Park is a two-day outdoor celebration of the visual, performing and culinary arts. Showcasing fine artists from all over the nation in a beautiful outdoor celebration of art, the Arts Festival also offers art activities for children and adults, live cultural performances, demonstration stage for culinary and visual artists, and culinary offerings. The Arts Festival is presented by The Georgetown Symphony Society, a 501 c 3 nonprofit. Net proceeds are used to assist Williamson County non-profit art organizations, improve the annual event, to present educational programs throughout the year, and to enhance art within the community. Promotional Opportunity
The Georgetown’s Art In The Park is the premier art festival opportunity in Williamson County market for promotion of restaurants and exposure of culinary quality to a highly selective audience. Participating restaurants tap into many exceptional marketing opportunities designed to drive name recognition:

  • Opportunities to impress with menu samplings before an audience expected to number over  8,000  provides a unique, year-round promotional benefit.
  • Pre-event publicity advertising from all media SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES.
  • Feature listing in the festival guide.
  • Distribution of a promotional item about your permanent restaurant location.

According to BBC Research and Consulting, the typical Arts Festival patron dines out an average of 8 to 10 times per month.
Culinary Partner Services
The Arts Festival's objective is to make the experience by participating restaurants rewarding, profitable and enjoyable. Services and support provided include:

  • Advance consultation and support regarding menu items, equipment, licenses and more.
  • Extensive personal collaboration to craft exciting and distinctive menus that meet the demands of the public.
  • Enthusiastic volunteers specifically assigned to assist in the culinary area prior to and during the Arts Festival.
  • Prominent ATM cash machines specifically placed near Café Artiste for Festival patron use.
  • Culinary booth facade and menu printing for exciting and consistent appearance.
  • Access to refrigerator trailer space provided by the Arts Festival.
  • Arts Festival staff dedicated to delivering an exceptional Culinary Program.
  • Preassembly of booths before restaurants are scheduled to set up.
  • Two 20-amp circuits of electricity.

Jurying
Submitted menu items will be reviewed by a panel of professionals serving as jurors. Please describe selections as they will be served at the Festival. Decisions of the jury panel are final. Culinary partners may sell prepared food products only. Prepackaged food products are not acceptable.
The Festival will coordinate all beverage concessions. Sale of any type of beverage is prohibited.
Culinary Partner Selection
Culinary Partner selection by the Arts Festival is based on:
• Food quality • Menu desirability • Creativity • Presentation • Diversity & uniqueness
• The challenge involved in presenting your menu in an outdoor environment • Previous event experience
 
Participation Fees
The Jury will select a maximum of 7 culinary artists for 2008.
Culinary fees for the 2008 event will be:

  • $2,500 for Café Artiste Showcase Space 20’ ft of serving off 2 sides.
  • $1,000 for each 10 x 10 culinary space  10’ ft counter selling off front .
  • $1,800 for each 20’ x 14 culinary space 20’ft counter selling off front.
  • $300 security deposit, to be returned after the event closes pending acceptable post-event site inspection.
  • Propane may be provided from the Festival's propane provider for a fee TBD.

Standard Participation Fees Include:

  • Arts Festival décor – Special table décor
  • 10'x10' canopy tent / or 10’ x 20’ canopy and counters
  • (2) 20-amp circuits with (2) quad receptacles (Additions
    will be priced according to the service requested.)
  • Private culinary vendor hand washing stations, grease barrels and waste water barrels.

 Café Artiste Partnership Includes:

  •  Arts Festival décor / special table decoration celebrating the featured artist.
  • 10'x10' cooking canopy tent,
  • 10’ x 20’ counter serving within the Café Artiste (60’ x 40’ tent structure)
  • (2) 20-amp circuits with (4) quad receptacles (Additions will be priced according to the service requested.)
  • Private culinary vend or  hand washing stations, grease barrels and waste water barrels.
  • (4) Menu boards, (1) Logo banner for inside space.
  • (2) 3’ x 10’ logo banners hung on outside of tent

NOTE: Fees negotiable for in-kind trade.
Exclusivity
Restaurants will be guaranteed an exclusive opportunity to provide a signature item. Exclusivity will be determined based on quality and final approval by the GAP Culinary Staff. *The GAP Culinary Program endeavors to offer vendors exclusive menu offerings and to offer our patrons the widest variety of food possible. However, there will be cases of menu cross-over in today's world of 'fusion' cuisine styles.
Payment
The following installment plan makes it easy for culinary partners to participate:

  • $300 security deposit plus 50% of the Participation Fee due no later than 4/15/08.
  • Balance of 50% of the Participation Fee payable by 5/15/08. All fees MUST be paid in full by this date.
  • All payments MUST be cashier's check, money order or certified check.
  •  Culinary partners located outside of Texas are required to pay the full fee to the Arts Festival by 5/01/08 and payment by cashier's check is required.


Standard Partnership Booth space will be 10 feet by 10 feet with a front service area that is 10 feet wide. No sales or service shall be made from the sides or rear of the allotted space or spaces. Space accommodation for special equipment needs will be considered on a one by one basis and may be subject to additional charges.
The Georgetown’s Art In The Park Hours of Operation
Saturday, May 31, 9:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, June 1, 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.
•All restaurants are expected to be fully operational during the established operating hours.

Load In and Out Information

  • Load in for culinary partners – Thurs & Fri 9a to 9p
  • Propane hook-ups Sat & Sun 7am
  • Load out for culinary partners – Sun 7pm to midnight / Mon 7am to noon
